Group members receive a standard box rather than nominating specific items – that’s the business model, and is a point of difference between AllGreenedUp and other service providers. It is also the reason that members get such good value in terms of range and quantity of produce.
So how does AllGreenedUp choose the produce for each weeks boxes?
When establishing the service we surveyed our early adopters to establish the produce they wanted and to identify specific items that members felt they would rarely or never eat.
Then we established out ‘staples’ lists for fruit and vegetables – these are items that members said they used very often. Several ‘staples’ feature in standard boxes every week. Which ones depends on what’s available, especially from local sources, in season and at good prices.
We also have ‘additionals’ lists, again based on member feedback. We draw on the ‘additionals’ lists to supplement the staples. With at least 15 items in your box you are sure to have plenty of produce you and your family will enjoy, plus a few less common items that will stimulate the adventure-cook in you.
Herbs purchased are typically coriander, basil or flat leafed parsley, with occasional alternative herbs such as rosemary, dill, thyme or marjoram.
